Online inventory Updates

Today I improved the online catalog, users can now view the contents of assortments.

You can also now view inventory that we have ordered but have yet to receive, no prices are set however due to us having no exact figures for the cost of importing the product. More product will be added as soon as I process the info.

1-16-08  Online Catalog now has movie clips of certain effects, Hope to add more soon.  Aprox 100 clips added.

1/18/2008  Added a "submit order" function.  Orders are saved forever on the server, and can be modified and resubmited anytime.
 
You will also receive an email record of your order, but I have not yet mastered setting the layout of text in email so it may be hard to read, but the totals and stuff should be legible.

Changed the filters so that they no longer display "%" when they are not set.  Now it will say "ALL", so that people who do not know MySQL wildcard syntax (which is every non-geek on the planet) will not be so inconvenienced at my lack of user-friendly design skills. 

Also I have removed the WWB available filter, people wanting to order something for the Western Winter Blast will need to double check the arrival date field to be sure the product will be available. 

We are testing all the new Euro product tonight, so a new video update soon is a good posibility.

Something I should have done from the begining, quantities you try to add to your shopping cart are now validated to confirm we have enough available.  This does not stop somebody from ordering a particular item ahead of you, however.  For items wanted by more than one person, the first to submit the order is awarded the prize.

The online catalog has been working great so far. My only suggestion would be to allow mutiple carts (multiple orders). I place a few small orders in addition to my 7-4 order & have to e-mail the others in so they aren't just added to my main order. Maybe a dropdown list where one can select which order to add product to.

Added or upgraded 23 product videos using footage from our 2008 NFA show.  File sizes are averaging under 1 Mb so they should load relatively quickly.

Today I managed to add a case ordering mode to the catalog, you can have items displayed in terms of cases of product and case cost instead of just individual items.  The shopping cart still tracks items individually but shells per case informations and # cases ordered are now displayed.

Latest updates include the ability to view video clips of the products on your invoice, also there is an account updator form on your invoice page to keep your information current.  The ability to calculate your total based on your expected discount has also been implemented.

I have reformated the catalog a bit, trying to make it easier to use.  The filters should now remain visible at the top of the page, and if one is set it should turn yellow to indicate that it is set.  I am thinking of eventually making the catalog look and behave like our Access inventory program that we use in the office.

A bug was discovered where the "delete all items" button deleted all items on all orders. The bug is now fixed, it only deletes items off of your current order.

Fixed a bug where the filters at the top of the page would not all be displayed if a user had a bunch of toolbars such as favorites or google toolbar.  Also could be caused by different font size settings in IE.  Now the height of the filter area is set dynamically based on the height of the filter area contents.
